Graduation

Graduation at Florida SouthWestern State College is an automatic process. Once a student has met all the necessary requirements for their declared certificate and/or degree program, the student鈥檚 certificate and/or degree will automatically be awarded, and the student鈥檚 official transcript will be updated. The student will be notified of their graduated status through the student鈥檚 College email account, and the diploma will be mailed to the address on file.

Students may update their Automatic Graduation Status by contacting the Office of the Registrar on or before the date published within the academic calendar. If a student chooses to 鈥渙pt out鈥 of the Automatic Graduation process, the student is indicating they do not want their certificate and/or degree to be awarded and assigned to their academic record. Once a student decides they do want the certificate and/or degree awarded, the student will need to contact the Office of the Registrar to 鈥渙pt back in鈥 and receive the certificate or degree.
