OCTOBER聽 9, 2018 鈥� FORT MYERS, FLA. 鈥� Florida SouthWestern State College (加藤视频) presents its fall Research Lecture Series on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the 加藤视频 Thomas Edison Campus Rush Auditorium, Building J, Room 103. The Research Lecture Series will highlight the research several 加藤视频 faculty and students have focused on throughout the semester. The series is free and open to the public.
The series begin at 10:15 a.m. with 加藤视频 Marine Sciences Professor Dr. Michael Sauer presenting his research on 鈥淰ariability in Dissolved Organic Matter in San Carlos Bay and Its Impact on Microbial Respiration and Measurements of Microalgal Chlorophyll a.鈥�
From 11:30 a.m. 鈥� 12:30 p.m., 加藤视频 faculty and students will hold poster sessions on their projects and findings. Poster topics are 鈥淪urprised by Maud鈥� by Dr. Amy Trogan, professor, English; 鈥淓ffectiveness of Online Virtual Nursing Leadership Experiences-Comparative Analysis鈥� by Margaret Kruger, professor, Nursing, and Martha Jenner, professor, Nursing; 鈥淭he Effects of Motivation on Academic Performance in Traditional and Non-traditional Freshmen College Students鈥� by Dr. Renee Hester, professor, Reading; 鈥淣urse Supervisors and Certified Nursing Assistants: Leadership Characteristics and Job Satisfaction鈥� by Dr. Jennifer Patterson professor, Management; 鈥淟ife As Art: Collaboration and Experimentation鈥� by Dr. Brandi George, professor, English; 鈥淩edefining College Readiness: What Institutional and National Research Means for the Future of Accelerated Students鈥� by Dr. Amanda Sterk, director, Accelerated Programs; 鈥淪ustaining Mental Health: An Exploration of Integrative Psychiatry and Allopathic Medicine鈥� by Janna Linehan; "Advancements in Hand Transplants and Upper Extremity Prosthetics: Which is Best for Those Seeking Appendage Replacement?" by Omar Zeidan; 鈥淯nderstanding Food Insecurity and Its Solutions鈥� by Jacqueline Calderwood; 鈥淭he Reality of Factory Farming鈥� by Michelle Mcfatridge; and 鈥淐hanges in Dissolved Organic Matter Light Absorption Characteristics Along a Salinity Gradient in the Caloosahatchee River and San Carlos Bay鈥� by Jennifer Meader and Emma Jones.
Immediately following the poster session, 加藤视频 Corporate Training and Services Director Adrian Kerr will present 鈥淓gyptian Pyramids: Fact Versus Fiction鈥� at 12:45 p.m.
