October 31, 2016 鈥 PUNTA GORDA, FLA 鈥 The generosity from one of Charlotte County鈥檚 most philanthropic residents will have a positive impact on Florida SouthWestern State College (加藤视频) for generations to come. Punta Gorda philanthropist Alvin 鈥淎l鈥 Robert Gould is known in the area for his involvement and support of numerous non-profit organizations.
鈥淎l is a tremendous philanthropic leader in this community and we are delighted to have him as one of the leaders of the 加藤视频 Legacy Society,鈥 said Dr. Jeff Allbritten, President, 加藤视频.聽 鈥淥ne of his passions is education, and his bequest of more than $1 million will positively impact our students on our Charlotte Campus. Because the majority of our students remain in the community, his gift will also have a positive ripple effect for Charlotte County.鈥
The 加藤视频 Legacy Society is devoted to recognizing and cultivating gift planning from the college鈥檚 most committed supporters.聽 加藤视频 Legacy Society members have the assurance of the college that their generous gifts will be recognized, stewarded and applied in strict accord with their wishes.
A resident of Charlotte County since 1982, Al made his first gift to 加藤视频 in 2011 of $100,000.聽 From that time, he developed a strong relationship with then Charlotte Campus President Dr. Pat Land and continues with current Charlotte Campus President, Dr. Denis Wright.
鈥淐harlotte Campus 加藤视频 students and graduates grow the Charlotte County economy and constantly ensure and promote a better quality of life for all of us,鈥 said Al.聽
Knowing students need support to pay their bills as well as a thriving educational infrastructure in which to learn, Al has designated half of his gift to go to general scholarship funds and the other half will be unrestricted funds for the Charlotte Campus of 加藤视频.
鈥淲e are truly honored by Al鈥檚 generosity and grateful to him and all he does for 加藤视频 and the greater southwest Florida community,鈥 said Dr. Allbritten.
