Florida SouthWestern State College's Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Public Safety Administration program is designed to prepare individuals as leaders and administrators in public safety-related professions. Students enrolling in the program bring a variety of safety and security backgrounds to enrich the educational experience, including legal studies and law enforcement, corrections, fire science, and emergency medical services. The program provides a career and educational pathway for students who have earned an A.S. degree in a Public Safety discipline or an Associate in Arts with electives chosen from the Public Safety field.

Degrees & Certificates

Graduates of the Public Safety Administration, BAS degree can pursue Master's Degrees in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Public Safety Administration, Business Administration, or other related areas at many local colleges and universities, as well as those located throughout the state and country. Graduates of the ¼ÓÌÙÊÓÆµ BAS PSAD program can matriculate into the FSU College of Criminology and Criminal Justice Online Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Studies or into the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship graduate programs and certificates at Nova Southeastern University. 

Program Information

Curriculum: The BAS in Public Safety Administration program includes courses in public administration, strategic planning, finance and budgeting, human resource management, and homeland security. 

Duration: The Public Safety Administration, BAS degree consists of 120 credit hours and can be completed in 2 years with full-time enrollment. The program is designed for both full-time and part-time students. Courses are offered in online and traditional formats to accommodate students’ varying schedules and learning preferences.
