Florida SouthWestern State College’s Associate in Science (AS) in Architectural Design and Construction Technology prepares students for entry-level careers in the architecture and construction industry. Students develop technical and design skills required for positions such as construction planners, architectural assistants, construction engineering assistants, contractors' assistants, and cost estimators in residential and light commercial construction.Â

Degrees/Certificates
Graduates of the Architectural Design and Construction Technology, AS degree can matriculate into the BAS, Supervision and Management degree at Florida SouthWestern State College or pursue bachelor’s degrees in Construction Management or other related fields at institutions throughout the state and country.Â
Earn Academic Credit for Industry Certification: Students who hold a valid industry certification earned within the last 3 years and have successfully completed at least 12 credit hours in the AS program may receive free academic credits toward the degree.
Earn Academic Credit for Career Certificate Program: Career Certificate programs consist of a series of vocational and/or college credit courses that prepare students for entry-level employment in specific career fields. Upon completion of the certificate program, students continuing their education in a related A.S. degree program may be awarded credit in selected A.S. degree courses. Program Information
Curriculum: The program includes courses in architectural design, drafting, construction methods, CAD (including Revitâ„¢), materials, specifications, sustainability, and job cost estimating.Â
Duration: The Architectural Design and Construction Technology AS degree consists of 64 credit hours and can be completed in approximately two years with full-time enrollment. The program is designed for both full-time and part-time students. Courses are offered in online and traditional formats to accommodate students’ varying schedules and learning preferences.Â
